South Carolina does NOT require registration for off-road ATVs. SC Code Title 50 Ch. 26 defines an ATV as a vehicle NOT required to be licensed or titled for highway use. Titling is OPTIONAL (about $15). Separately, a UTV can be made street-legal via SCDMV with an 'off road use only' branded title, license plate, liability insurance, and a $10 biennial fee. Snowmobile registration is not addressed in this chapter.
