Why this site exists
Registration rules for a trailer, an ATV, or a moped are scattered across dozens of state DMV, DNR, and licensing-agency websites, each with its own layout and its own list of documents. We built Register My Vehicle to put the real answer — the agency, the steps, and the fees — in one place, with a link back to the official page every time.
We do not publish a step, a document, or a fee unless we can cite it to an official .gov page. Where a state has not yet been checked, the page says so plainly instead of guessing — see our methodology for exactly how that works.
What we cover today
Our first wave of guides covers seven vehicle types across all 50 states and DC:
- Trailer registration
- Utility Trailer registration
- RV / Motorhome registration
- Motorcycle registration
- ATV / UTV registration
- Moped / Scooter registration
- Snowmobile registration
Boats, vessels, and other watercraft are out of scope — they are typically regulated through a separate marine or wildlife agency and are not covered here.
How we make money
Register My Vehicle is free to use. We support the site with clearly labeled display advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and which pages carry ads never affects what we publish or leave unverified. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies work.
A note on accuracy
Register My Vehicle provides general, factual how-to information for registering a vehicle — it is not legal advice, and it does not replace the official page it cites. Agencies change fees, thresholds, and forms without notice; always confirm the current requirement with the agency listed on the page before you rely on it.
